カタツムリでした！ yes, it's a snail.

Many garden snails hibernate. At the end of Autumn, they burrow deep into the leaves on the forest floor, hold onto a leaf and then secrete a mucus at the entrance of their shell. The mucus dries, sealing them inside and anchoring them to the leaf so they can live out the winter safe from Jack Frost's long reaching arms. Not all snails do this. Some of them lay eggs before the winter and then die.
カタツムリは冬眠します。秋に落ちた枯葉の中に入り込んで、入り口のところにうすい膜をはって、冬を越します。卵で冬を越すカタツムリもいるそうです。
公園の枯葉の中を探してみると見つかるかもしれません。
