台風一過

There is a Japanese expression to describe days like today.
台風一過 Taifuu Ikka means "Clear skies after the typhoon" and is often heard on days like today when a big typhoon has passed through and leaves bright blue skies in its trail

Clear blue skies after typhoon Wipha last year

This morning at sunrise we had dark black skies in the North (the back of the typhoon) and bright blue skies in the south.

It was beautiful, but also quite eerie as the clouds were still fast moving and the wind wind was unpredictable.

The trains were running on time though, including the local diesel train that I passes through the fields near my house.

There is something beautiful about the blue skies after a good storm, I guess it has something to do with the sense of relief in knowing that it's safe to go outside again.
