Everyone knows that clear skies with fast moving clouds make the best sunset photos, but one thing I do enjoy about Japanese Spring is the pastel like colours that paint the sky as the sun goes down.
Yellow Flash
On days like these it is possible to point the camera straight at the sun without a filter, the dust and pollen block out the normal flare, and the sun takes on a soft yellow glow instead of the usual blinding white.
As the sun moves down further, the sky lights up in pastel oranges and grey, while the sky above still shines light blue.

In the right conditions the whole sky takes on a soft pink glow.
