I have a lot of sunrise photos from Okinawa last week, most of them are panoramas that will take a while to go through and process.
I also took a few long exposures before sunrise, some of them turned out quite colourful.
I could barely see this beach when I took this photograph, but with a slow shutter speed (30seconds), it came out red and yellow. The light came from a single street light just out of frame on the left.
Venus over Okinawa
Venus, shining brightly in the sky before sunrise
These pines are a native species in Okinawa. Called Ryukyu Island Pine, they are very fast growing and one of the few pine species to grow in the tropics. They have foliage than most pines, making them more resistant to tropical heat and they get less of a beating during typhoons. It's Japanese name is リュウキュウマツ.
Pines and Stars
The bright star in between the two pines on the right is Capella
This seascape was taken after the top photo, this time down on the beach. It's a 6 second exposure with a filter. I probably should straighten it, it looks a bit crooked!
Pebble Beach
Sandy beaches are beautiful, but I do wish we had some stony beaches like this here in Chiba.
