8月最後の日曜日、写真の研修会の講師をやらせていただきました。
Kenshukai 02 Pano
On the last Sunday of August I did a workshop for a group of amateur and semi-professional photographers in my city. The event went smoothly and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many fantastic people. I had been preparing for the workshop since Spring and was anxious about talking in Japanese, especially about the technical aspects of photography. The workshop was held at my city hall though, and the room limit of 80 people kept it friendly and personal meaning the attendees were very forgiving of my language ability and they even laughed at my jokes.
The workshop was a couple of hours, based around showing my artwork on a large projector and talking about the stories behind the photos, as well as answering questions from the audience. As an artist, being given the opportunity to show and talk about my own photos was a dream come true. I am now convinced that this is what I want to be doing, and the big grin I have been wearing since the workshop is proof of that.
Or maybe it is just relief that I didn't completely screw it up!
Thanks to everyone who came to the workshop, and to my photography friends who helped me prepare for it.
